macOS universal build
The macOS ZIP contains a universal application for Intel and Apple silicon Macs. The release is signed with an Apple Developer ID, uses the hardened runtime, is notarized by Apple and includes a stapled notarization ticket.
Download the archive, open it and move Takeout Rescue to Applications if preferred. macOS may show its normal first-launch verification while it checks the signature and notarization ticket.
Windows 10 and Windows 11
The Windows ZIP supports 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. Extract TakeoutRescue.exe before running it. Version 0.3.10 is currently unsigned, so Windows may display a SmartScreen warning; download it only from this site and verify the published SHA-256 checksum.
The desktop application includes the pinned repair engine needed for metadata processing. Source ZIPs remain read-only and repaired output goes to a separate folder that you select.
Verify the download
Each public download response includes an X-Checksum-SHA256 header, and a matching .sha256 file is published beside the release artifact. Compare that value before running a file obtained through a mirror or transferred between computers.
The macOS signature identifies its publisher and detects modification after signing. The current Windows ZIP is unsigned, so its HTTPS origin and published SHA-256 are the available integrity checks.
Start with the free repair
Select all numbered Takeout ZIP files together, review the preflight inventory and repair up to 10 primary files in your one free export per device. Inspect the output report and representative media before purchasing or importing the full library.
Keep the source archives until the repaired library has been reviewed and backed up independently.
